1. Agreement to Terms

Welcome to SETNATION (“we”, “our”, or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the SETNATION website, services, and applications (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing, browsing, creating an account, or interacting with SETNATION, you agree that you have read, understood, and accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.

2. Nature of Platform & YouTube Embedded Media

SETNATION is an index, discovery engine, and community ranking platform for publicly available live DJ performances.

  • No Native Audio Hosting: SETNATION does not host, upload, store, or stream raw audio or video files on its servers. All audio-visual playback is rendered strictly via the official YouTube Embedded Player API.
  • Third-Party Terms: By playing or submitting YouTube-hosted content on SETNATION, you also agree to be bound by YouTube’s Terms of Service and Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Ownership of Media: All trademarks, video titles, artist imagery, and musical compositions remain the intellectual property of their respective creators, record labels, and copyright holders.

3. Curator Accounts & Registration

Certain features on SETNATION—including submitting DJ Sets, upvoting on leaderboards, posting comments, and submitting moderation reports—require you to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information upon registration.
  • Maintain the security of your credentials and accept responsibility for all activities under your account.
  • Not impersonate any artist, curator, DJ, record label, or festival entity without authorization.

4. Prohibited Conduct & Vote Manipulation

You agree not to engage in any prohibited activities, including but not limited to:

  • Vote Manipulation: Utilizing automated bots, scripts, proxy farms, or collusion networks to artificially inflate or deflate upvotes on any DJ Set or comment.
  • Harmful or Malicious Links: Submitting phishing links, malware, or deceptive redirects.
  • Spam & Harassment: Posting repetitive spam comments, advertising non-music products, or harassing community members or artists.
  • Circumventing Filters: Intentionally bypassing duplicate URL detection or moderation filters.

Violation of these rules will result in immediate termination of your curator account, forfeiture of upvotes, and permanent IP blocking.

5. User-Generated Submissions & Comments

When you post content (such as tracklists, timestamps, reviews, or comments) on SETNATION, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to display, reproduce, and index that text content on the Platform to facilitate community discovery and discussion.

6. Copyright, DMCA & Takedown Requests

Because SETNATION displays embedded YouTube streams, removing a video from YouTube automatically removes it from playback on SETNATION. If you are a copyright owner or authorized representative and wish to have a specific link, metadata, or post de-indexed from the SETNATION platform, please contact us at copyright@setnation.com with:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • The specific URL on SETNATION containing the link or embed.
  • Your contact information and statement of authority.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. SETNATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR FREE FROM ERRORS OR THAT ANY YOUTUBE STREAM WILL REMAIN ACCESSIBLE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SETNATION, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM.
